I simply had to share the best appliance repair call I have ever had. After 13 years of beloved companionship, the cooling function of my much beloved fridge (stainless steel Kenmore bottom mount freezer) finally gave up the ghost.Fearing the worst (i.e., watching a repair bill escalate into the stratosphere; or replacing her with an inferior product with a short lifespan due to built-in obsolescence), I researched if there are actually any reputable repair companies left in the Montreal area, and landed upon SERVICE SERVOTECH. Am I glad I did, because I could not be happier with their service! Dave, the repair technician: Called the day before to troubleshoot the problem, requested the model number, procured the new part, and kept me apprised of his arrival time.The next day, he fixed my beloved refrigerator in no time flat, vacuumed the schmutz out from the compressor, started her engine, and voilà! She now purrs like a new unit!He also provided me with sage advice on how to improve my 13 year-old dishwasher’s performance (use the high temperature wash – why didn’t I think of that?) and how to clean my oven without using the self-cleaning cycle (distilled water, *not* bottled), and all this for a modest 1 hour flat rate, plus the price of the part, some humour, and a one-year guarantee on parts and labour to boot.Now there's no need for me to ever call Ghosbusters again, as long as you promise me that Dave will never, ever retire!Way to go, SERVICE SERVOTECH!!!read more

Dave came to my house to repair my fridge last night around 9:30pm. Super nice man, knew what he was talking about. Talked me through what the problem was and what caused it and how to prevent it in the future. Fixed the issue promtply for an excellent price. These guys have a customer for life.read more

I had a pretty big problem with an old 18 year old Amana refrigerator. I originally called another service company who was very honest and told me they were not able to fix my refrigerator. So I tried another company Servotech. They sent me technician, Dave, who immediately recognized that it was a big job, The compressor had to be changed and some other parts because after 18 years the refrigerator developed a leak. He ordered and picked up the parts that day and came the following night and worked from 8:00 p.m. to almost midnight to replace all the parts. He showed me the old parts which were obviously corroded and needed replacement. He was very professional and courteous, and I could not have been more satisfied with the work he did. Not only did he work really hard to fix our refrigerator he really seemed like he cared about doing a good job. It is not often that you find someone who really cares and feels responsible for the job that he is doing. I hope that none of my appliances break any time soon, but if something happens I know I have someone to call that I can rely on. Thanks Dave!!read more

In the middle of the summer, I called Servotech to check out my split-AC unit. Compared to other companies I called, they were much more polite and patient on the phone, and gave me a clear and affordable rate. As a single woman looking for trusted repairpeople (that I have to let into my house!!), it means so much to be talked to like an equal. The technician they sent the next day was very friendly and explained everything he was doing, bilingually, including the parts and how much they cost, and everything was fixed quickly (40 mins) and in a clear manner. When my washing machine also broke down this past weekend, I went straight back to Servotech without looking for other quotes anywhere else. I was treated with the same consistent politeness, quick service, and patient and clear explanation of repairs and costs. It was a different technician for the washer (also bilingual), and he was in possession of the part needed in his atelier nearby, and even with that travel time, in about an hour everything was fixed. He even gave me future advice about the upkeep and quality of my specific machine -- cleaning specific parts, what would be worth fixing/replacing before changing machines, analog vs digital machines, etc. There is a 1-year warranty on all the parts I paid for but I have absolute trust that my appliances are all working fine now. It's a big relief to find a service company like this in Montreal, would recommend to other people, for sure.read more
