We used S & S Conversions to install 3 new mini-splits in our new centre. They are so easy to work with, so professional and really went above and beyond. S & S installed our central air-conditioning and did a marvellous job. They took care to spend extra time after the installation to ensure that we, the customers were pleased with the product that we purchased. We recently needed service for the unit and our request was processed immediately with the service man showing up at our house. The workers in this company are professional, thorough and friendly. S&S Conversions installed a new heat pump an electric furnace in my house last week. It was an absolutely fantastic experience dealing with a company that really values good customer service. The crew of 3 arrived first thing in the morning as expected, with all the tools and equipment they needed for the installation. The guys set up the basement with blankets to ensure it stayed at clean as possible and then went to work removing all the old equipment and installing the new equipment. The crew worked very hard throughout the day, as the day went on and the new equipment was being installed they took the time to explain what they were doing. Even though I could see I had a very experienced crew, at one point during the day one of the supervisors (not part of the crew) dropped by the job just to check on how things were going and to make sure the guys were on track. When they finished the work, everything was cleaned up, the old equipment taken away and they took time to explain the maintenance required on the new system. I highly recommend S&S Conversions, and would hire them again without any hesitation.read more

My air conditioning unit stopped working during the early summer at the peak of the heat wave. I called S+S Conversions as I was recommended this company from a friend. I could not have been happier. From the office folk who took my call, to the technicians who installed my new unit, everyone was respectful, knowledgeable and professional. I am so happy now with my new air conditioner. Fantastic service all around. Top quality products, professional to deal with over the phone. Installation was outstanding. The guys did the job efficiently without being in a rush, protected all the floors and carpets, and cleaned up after themselves better than I could have. Extremely disappointed. I made an appointment 2 weeks prior to fix my A/C and I even called again to reconfirm 1 business day in advance the details of the appointment: 7:30 a.m. on the following business day. I made arrangements with work to be slightly late that morning, and with my wife as well to be late for her work since she would have to do daycare dropoff instead of me. The morning of, 7:30 comes and goes, so I call and their phone system keeps me on hold for over 30 minutes with a "higher than normal call volume". Finally, at 8:30, I call again and (now that they're finally open and someone answers the phone) am told "no wait, that was for tomorrow". What?? There's absolutely and categorically no way there was any mistake on my side as to the time of the appointment. Once again, I had just called to reconfirm 1 business day prior. It's as though they shuffled their schedule with no warning at all, and at my expense. That or it really is a tragic mistake on their end. Either way, unfortunately I cannot recommend at this point.Edit in light of owner's response: I would like to clarify that I spoke to someone at the company and we repeated the date of July 3rd twice on the phone. Shame on me for not insisting on an email exchange. Also, your data on my system is irrelevant since I was not even the owner of the house 10 years ago. You can have no idea what system or what maintenance has been done since I bought the house (it has in fact been regularly maintained, just not by you). Finally, please remove from your response any data as to any details regarding my system, as they are private and I am a private individual and a consumer. Having said all of that I do thank you for your response and willingness to find a solution.read more

Response to S&S (08/03): I'd like to clarify a few of your points: #1. "Deciding" to leave a message is the only choice when your offices are closed. If your co. doesn't treat messages as important, please remove this option for customers. #2. My relatives were available on day 5, when S&S showed up + quickly left without word as to their return. They were not available on day 11, when S&S later said they'd return. Why the 6-day gap? Note that everyone was available on day 16. #3. The electrician issue is fair, except S&S waited until my relatives called THEM—on the morning of day 16, to ensure their follow-up visit would be kept—to tell them this. Why was this info not shared on day 5? And would S&S simply not have told anyone they were breaking their appointment if they were not called? # 4. Yes, my relatives are happy that S&S returned (day 17? 18?) and restored the AC. We're all very relieved. But please don't dismiss S&S's litany of errors and oversights along the way to this grand success.-----------------------UPDATE: AVOID THS COMPANY:My older relatives' S&S AC system broke just as a record-breaking Montreal heatwave began. They called S&S on Sunday (DAY 1), were told they'd have to wait until at least Tues (DAY 3); they were later given more delays. I called on their behalf and a very helpful rep named Josh was able to book service for Thursday morn (DAY 5). - Thurs. morn: The service people said they needed a missing part + that this would be a 2-person job, so they'd return (no details on when). - Repairs were booked for 6 DAYS LATER (DAY 11, Wed.), but my relatives weren't available, so S&S booked the following Monday (DAY 16). - Monday morn: S&S DECIDED NOT TO DO THE JOB. They called to say it was too much time and work for them, and told my relatives to find an electrician instead. All this after 16 DAYS.My relatives have been customers for 10+ years. We're STLL in the worst heat wave to hit the city in years. We've had 16 days of runaround by S & S Conversions, who at the last minute refused to repair their own faulty system.S & S Conversions, I'm not sure if your neglect is actionable (class action suit, anyone?), but I do know that I will be telling everyone—in life, online, etc.—to avoid you.read more

During the heatwave we had , my AC stopped working it was in the evening house was showing 89 deg. I called them that evening and they showed up at 7:30 am to fix the problem. Service was great and the tech guy was very knowledgeable. Life saver !!read more

They have really bad customer service. I called them for an estimate. Salesman Howard Steinber scheduled to come on Sunday and then does not show up. I call him back, he says he will be an hour late. Then 10 mins later, call me back again that he rather re-schedule for another day and time because there is going to be traffic on the way. Come on, traffic on Sunday morning!! stop wasting your client's time!read more

I had an issue with my Outdoor unit fan not turning. The technician Matthew arrived at the scheduled time ,and after quickly verifying thermostat settings, located a loose wire on the outdoor unit & had it working in no time. No charge since it was under warranty. Professional and Prompt, very satisfied.read more
